Digital accessibility of learning resources
Introduction
Universidad de Alcalá is one of the member universities of the EUGLOH Alliance of Universities , which is cofunded under Erasmus+ programme as part of the European strategy for universities.
As part of the activities of EUGLOH, the seed funding programme for the academic year 2024-2025 promoted projects for the development of training opportunities targeting academic staff within the EUGLOH Alliance. This program awarded the project proposal “Digital accessibility of learning resources” by prof. Dr. Luis Fernández Sanz, full professor at Departamento de Ciencias de la Computación of Universidad de Alcalá, with the participation of two other member universities of the Alliance: Universidade do Porto and UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
The project has the primary goal of “Promotion of competencies on DA (Digital Accessibility) through the design of a training program for university staff to apply accessibility principles to the creation, management and selection accessible learning materials, including documents, presentations, and other educational resources”. As secondary goal, the project will help to enhance the digital skills needed to apply the DA principles in the practice.
